Our care workers provide care and support for elderly or disabled people in their own homes. Duties include support with all aspects of daily living. Depending on the client’s needs, this could include helping to wash and dress, toileting, bathing, meal preparation, prompting medication and taking part in community and social activities. Ability to drive preferred.
We pay a competitive salary along with mileage and travel time payments. We also provide free counselling and hypnotherapy sessions for weight loss, stopping smoking and other phobias etc.
All care workers attend a five day induction course in Ipswich which meets the Skills for Care standards. New carers are also expected to complete written and practical tests before working with clients. We have a regular programme of refresher training and specialist training courses.
QCF level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification is desirable. We encourage staff to study for relevant care qualifications. Funding for level 2 and 3 is currently available subject to eligibility criteria.
